China is one of the largest mobile markets in the world. However, SMS delivery to China can be challenging due to strict filtering policies and regulatory requirements. China’s mobile operators and local regulators regularly review and update their policies, and stricter requirements may be introduced without prior notice.
To ensure reliable SMS delivery in China, signature registration and message content whitelisting are required.
Example of an approved message format:
【XXXX】你的验证码是123456
Please note that the Unicode brackets 【】 must be used for the registered signature.
Sender ID / Signature Requirements:
– A signature must be registered and should have a direct and clear relationship with the company or brand name.
– Alphanumeric Sender IDs are not supported for China.
– For pre-registered traffic, random numeric Sender IDs will be replaced by the registered signature.
– Content Whitelisting Requirements
– Only Chinese contents with Chinese character signature can be supported.
The exact SMS content must be submitted for whitelisting. Unregistered content or messages without a registered signature may be filtered by the operators, which can result in delivery failures.
The following documents are required for registration:
– Business Registration Certificate
– PIC/Authorized Representative Identification Document
– Message content to be whitelisted
– Registered SMS signature
